I would like to announce that Giant Slayer Games will be hosting a Halloween themed Game Jam.
what is a Game Jam?
A game jam is a group writing project of sorts, but it’s also a contest. Basically each participant, or team, will create an adventure for a specific game, within an allotted period of time.
What Game
The game system we have chosen to use for this game jam is Shadow Dark.
How will this work
On 9/16/2024, or later for those who sign up after the start. Each participant will be assigned a horror trope with which to design an adventure around. All adventures must be completed by the cut off date.
Each participant will be assigned 3 to 5 submissions to rate. The top 10, or however many we decide upon, will be judged on stream by 3 judges. The top 3 sill receive prizes, and the top 3 to 5 will be collected and sold as a print on demand book.
Who are the judges
The three judges will be Paddy’s Parlor Games, Grimm Jim, and Guardbro.
Judging Criteria
Each entry must be no longer than 8 pages in length, with US letter or A4 page formatting.
Each entry must be in compliance with the Shadow Dark licensing .
Each entry will be evaluated on how well it utilizes the assigned trope. As well as playability, aesthetics, and quality of writing.

A.I Policy
A.I written adventures will not be allowed.
Art Policy
You must have the legal right to use any art included in your adventure.
A.i art, public domain art, stock art, art you have personally created, and other art you may have purchased will all be allowed.
Prizes
The creator with the top rated entry will receive a $50 amazon gift card as a prize. The 2nd and 3rd best will receive $25 amazon gift cards.
The top 5 entries will be collected and put into a print on demand book. The contestants who’s entries are chosen will each receive a free copy of the book upon release.
How do I sign up
You must create a vendor account, if you do not already have one at www.giantslayergames.com in order to participate. The sign up form for the Game Jam is at the bottom of this page.
Submitting Entries
Each entry must be uploaded on the market place with the categories “2024 Halloween Game Jam”, and “Shadow Dark” selected.
Each Product must be priced as free or pay what you want.
Any profit made by an entry will be given to the creator of that product, minus the standard 15% commission.
